Happy Thanksgiving

Such cute creations....Liam and Delaney had fun with their friends creating these cute turkeys which, beautifully graced our thanksgiving dinner table!

Our front door was graced by a multitude of sticky notes from our beloved sister missionaries:  Sister Wahin (Wall-lean) and Sis. Zschokke (Shock-E)  What a fun treat!!  We sure do love those gals!

Amongst all the wonderful food, Delaney graced us with her decorating talents and created this cute turkey cake!
The greatest blessing was being together as a family.
Brian, Risa, Logan, Brenenan and Ellie drove down for the weekend.  We were also graced by our friends Aaron and Jen McGrady.  A lovely evening!

It was quite fun to see the littles 'read' books...Brianne did too, the camera just didn't grab her in time :(
Other fun:  Trampoline time!
Watching the boys play and follow Liam around....and watching him dote and care for                         them too!
Shopping!!!  Loved the Friday shopping time with the girls--Ellie included
Football on the big screen...not sure but I think Barry stomped all over Brian this year.

Connor's Eagle Scout project

For my Eagle Scout Project, I expanded Ray's Cemetery. The cemetery is really old, and has the graves of civil war vets. The cemetery is currently cared for by the Pulaski Christian Church, the congregation of which is primarily elderly, so there are certain things they can't do without great difficulty. I wanted to do something for the cemetery, and as I spoke to Mr. Hoover, the pastor, he mentioned that it needed to be expanded. We did the expansion and fixed up their sign.

Hunting for Fossils

Field trip time....we went to an area off of Rt. 100 north going towards Giles County for a fossil dig.
It was quite cold at 25* but we all had fun searching for fossils....and actually found quite a few.  Gabe Brame was our mentor.  Growing up with a father who teaches geology for a living, thus taught his children all the wonders of the earth provided us a great teacher for our day.

Hale's Happenings in November

Ryan helping at Connor's Eagle scout project.
Ahhhh, Halloween is over and everyone is looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas.  We've been busy this month  with school projects.  Barry's still working hard on his Master's program with Liberty University.  Ryan's doing great at NRCC.  Every Monday and Wednesday he gets a ride with Br. McGrady into Christiansburg for his computer class.  He stays there till the afternoon when Aaron picks him up and brings him back to Pulaski.  On Wednesday he attends his game night at the GameQuest store in Radford.
Connor and Liam have earned another level in belts for Jujitsu.  Connor finished up the project portion of his Eagle scout project....now to complete the paperwork!
Cailin got the opportunity to work for the Hill's at a few more festivals--the Highlander Festival in Radford and the Newbern Festival (which Connor helped with too)  They certainly enjoy earning money.
Delaney, Liam & Brianne are all less than enthusiastic with Classical Conversations this year.  Brianne doesn't do well in the nursery,(there are so many littles that the crying noise gets to her), so when Ryan can stay home with her, he does.  I plan activities for them and it goes fairly well.
Although Liam and Delaney love their Foundations class time, Delaney is not all all happy with the writing and grammar class....so sad, just too bad!  She is learning.  I know this is the right path for this year,so I'm not worried....she's getting more than she realizes and will be fine.  Liam also dislikes the time in the afternoon.  I'm still not sure why, but he too will be fine.  We bring his large tub of legos and the nursery leaders let him and other big boys have fun creating with the legos while Delaney and I are busy learning about the eight parts of speech four sentence structures and purposes, and how to parse and diagram sentences.

Earning the orange belt.
