The Wonderful Radford Young Women!

What makes you you?  Is it what you do? What you like?  What you're good at?

These amazing girls wrote down all their likes, talents.....all those things that make them them.

But them most important thing about them.....the thing that really makes them special, wonderful and priceless is....

I'm special because....I'm a daughter of God.  and that is the best reason of all!

The girls created their own commercial about this knowledge.  It was a great night of fun, beauty and love.

In front--  Mikayla Morgan, Clarissa Mattson, Cailin Hale, Beryl Brame.  In Back-- Jerrica Morgan, Lilian Salamanca, Hope Richardson, Breeona Crawford, Morgan (Jada's friend)  Jada Foley, Rosie Salamanca.

Another CC School Year Completed!

We joined the local Classical Conversations Community again this year....it was full of wonderful friends.  Liam had a Foundations class of nine boys.  They were all super silly (pizza anyone?), inquisitive, helpful, and enjoyed being with each other immensely.   (They were all fond of making any comment they had to include the word pizza in it!)
What an amazing group of girls....it's rare to find 10-12 year old girls who aren't going through pre-adolescent snobby like behaviors, but this group never displayed it.  10 Beautiful girls who all loved being together, supported each other and encouraged each other to be great.  Delaney loved going to CC for this class time (Foundations).  She made some wonderful friends!!  Left side top to bottom: Kayla Waters,Ainsley O'hanian, Delaney, Grace Walker,  Right side t-b: (you can just see her eyes) Kacy ,

Delaney's class rules:    1. NO BOYS!!
                                      2. You can't be allergic to sugar!
                                      3. All pets allowed.
                                      4. Everybody has to eat candy!
                                      5. Everybody should have parties.
                                      6. NO Bullying!  Be Nice!!
                                      7. Please eat at least 5 fruits and get at least an hour of exersize.
                                      8. Everybody has her own horse  AND  Must love Jesus!!

Memory work this year included American History, Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Latin, Math, Prepositions and Verb conjugations and our favorite  Timeline....we love the new timeline song.  It's a fun way to learn all those events and people.  Delaney's picture above is about the Boston Tea Party in 1773.
Liam's class display....each boy drew a picture about something they particularly like from all the memory work they learned this year.

Delaney presenting her paper about Pocahontas on the last day of class.
In the afternoon Delaney attended the Essentials class while Liam went to a child care class.  For different reasons, they both dreaded this time of the day.  Although Delaney tired hard to understand the concepts of the writing and grammar lessons, it was quite difficult.  I realized that she just needed to take things are a slower rate than was presented in the class.  I'm still not really sure why Liam hate his time in the "nursery" because he had some of his friends from the morning class and a huge bucket of Legos....what could be better.  (Probably hated the word nursery)

Easter and Sickness

This hasn't been the typical Easter weekend around here.....On Thursday evening these guys got sick.  Delaney was well enough to perform in Peter Pan, but Liam (who had one of his starting role nights) just couldn't make it. To much vomiting, diarrhea, sleepiness and no energy.  It was also General Conference weekend, which was great, we go to stay home and recuperate.  By Sunday everyone was down with the virus.  Most of us got better by Monday or Tuesday, however, poor Liam languished for another 4 days.  I finally found that popsicle would stay down so he didn't dehydrate.  So although we didn't have a super fun filled day, we did enjoy some of conference (the parts we didn't sleep through), along with a turkey dinner and fresh asparagus.

Peter Pan, the Musical

This year the elementary students of Pulaski Co.  performed Peter Pan.  It was a wonderful, yet busy, busy 6 weeks (except for the one week of constant snow and no school!).   Delaney got the part of Smee and Liam got the part of Michael Darling.
