4th of July

For the past few years our 4th of July celebrations have started out at the ward breakfast. My friend, Ann, took this picture of the boy's scout troop performing the flag ceremony.

A few day's earlier some of my siblings came for a visit....Brian and Risa along with their adorable boys (how did I not get any photo's of them? ) Elizabeth and Cheri, her husband was gone to Madagascar for a business trip she decided to come east and visit with us!

We had fun, although it was cut short as Cheri had to leave because of an unexpected family emergency.
She showered her nieces and nephews with gifts from her latest trip to Thailand. Cool t-shirts for the boys and small wooden jewelry type boxes along with bracelets made from local girls to my girls.

Not able to find anything for the little ones, she gets some fun bath (soap) paints for them. And, indeed they had fun (and still do) bathing.

Everyone left the day of July 4th, since it was on a Monday and they all had to get to work the next day.

The kids and I were going to go to Radford for the fireworks display, but alas, a rainstorm came and postponed the fun to the next night. Tuesday, we headed over to Glen Coe area to watch the fireworks. We were happily surprised to find many friends there--we joined up with the Brame's, Turner's and Henegar's for a wonderful night of chatting, and watching the beautiful fireworks display.
