Delaney has been wanting a place to call as her very own bedroom--a private space for just her. All of her older siblings have one, she should have one too! right!?. Since a separate bedroom isn't possible (even the boys have to share a room, it's just partically divided by a wall) I changed her bed from a bunk bed setup to a regular mattress supported by wheat barrels. I put the bed in front of the closet; this created a special little nook that with a baby gate creates a little island of her own.

She's so happy--yes Liam can still get in, but not so easily, I just remind her that Cailin's room is separated by a curtain and Liam gets in her room quite easily too.
Now sharing a room with Brianne and Liam is more tolerable. ( not that she's had a grudge about doing this, she just wants a place to call her very own too.)
And to those, who know me ohhh so well, NO I won't be rearranging this room. I'm not about the move those wheat barrels again.
I give it about two months. Anyone else have a bet?
ReplyDeleteI think that is so nice...everybody needs their own little place.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of trying to have Mike build lofts (It is like having just the top bunk with a lot of space underneath) like college students use. That way the boys can have their own space under their bed.
