Ancient Egypt--Exploring the Nile River

Because of the Nile River's existence
in a desert a great civilization grew to become the great Kingdoms of Egypt.

We learned that due to the river flooding and depositing rich silt over the land banking the Nile; the people were able to grow crops abundantly.

We had fun creating an individual 'Nile' and then flooding it!

Gathering dirt for his own Nile River.

Delaney was the only one to create a river in a shape similar to the Nile--with a Delta region in the Norther part of Egypt. The others went crazy and had fun creating designs with theirs.

Just like the Nile, we flooded the grass seed that was planted, we then left it alone, to sit and dry out.
Delaney was a little over zealous with the 'flooding season'......
(and Liam was over zealous with the seed)
but, it all worked out in the end. Every one's 'crop' of grass grew nicely.
