Here she is chatting away and having fun with her speech therapist. Of course, she disproved my concern that her babbling/talking has decreased somewhat the past few weeks. (What a show off!)
The other day, Barry made an off handed comment that she hasn't been talking with him as much as she usually does. I thought it was just me being overly concerned or dramatic, but it's not just me so, I finally made the appointment with her audiologist--the one I was suppose to make 4 months ago once her ear infection cleared up--anyhow, we'll go just to make sure everything is okay with her hearing.
She's starting to bare weight on her legs. Apparently Susan's (Early Intervention therapist) was starting to get concerned about this, however, through her screaming fits of not wanting to 'work out' or exercise' her muscles she showed us that she could indeed stand up with support.
We've started feeding her table food--straight off the dinner plate. She loves it. No more baby food mush for her.
We can't eat anything in her presence unless she has some too.
I'm suppose to schedule another swallow study in the next few months to see if she can start tolerating liquids without thickener added. We'll just wait and see how that goes till then.
She also like to look at picture books and play with siblings-- as long as big brother's not too rough. She loves to grab at anything that is close by, paper is an especially favorite item, which she then eats with zeal. Listening to us sing is another joy in her life, although with some of our voices I'm not sure why. :) I'm amazed, once again, of the calming effect "I Am a Child of God" has on a child.
How lucky we are to have our ten month joy.
She is completely darling, Vicki!! Those are great pictures of her. I love how her whole face lights up when she smiles!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at how you called her a show off. So cute!
I also got a giggle at your saying that she gets such joy at of hearing her family sing, "although with some of our voices I'm not sure why." Funny!
That's my girl!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed catching up on your posts.
