We've been rowing the book
Amber on the Mountain by Tony Johnson for the past 3 weeks....a little longer than I wanted, but we had so many fun things to explore (and other things in life became more of a priority) that it took us a bit longer to finish.
For this row we discussed:
Similes (using like or as to compare two items), the formation of mountains, caves and caverns, the major mountain chains of the US and each continent, wild flowers found on the various levels of mountains (the foothills to the alpine tundra) mules, friendship, the state of Colorado.
We're now moving on to
The Rag Coat and exploring quilts, coal, Appalachian culture love and acceptance of others.
