We love book group....family reading time--cuddling up with a good book--then the fun of discussing the book with friends. It's definitely a win-win situation! But, when we can combine book group fun with a field trip to a chocolate shop, well it's just plain wonderful.
We read the book
The Chocolate Touch it's a variation of the
The Midas Touch. After reading about chocolate for a week straight, well I just wanted
chocolate!! So, we went to the Blue Ridge Parkway for a picnic and got some delicious chocolate at Nancy's Candy Shop.
The older kids read
The Chosen by Chaim Potok. They may not have read about chocolate, but they didn't mind the chocolate treats!
They just finished the play
Willy Wonka at the high school. They thought it would be great to wear their shirts....the staff thought so too and asked to take pictures of them to put up on their wall. I wonder if it's really there?!
Chocolate will make anybody smile!!! YUM!!
