A Wrinkle in Time

We love our book group!! Not only do we get to read great literature with our family, but we get to meet with friends and have some fun delving into the meanings and message of the book-- and fun is the operative word, here!

This month we read "A Wrinkle in Time" by Madeleine L'Engle.
I especially enjoy a book when it gives us the opportuintiy to talk about some aspect of the gospel. This book presented a chance for us to talk about the Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation veres Lucifer's plan. We also got to discuss what 'love' really is.

Cailin gave a presentation. She drew pictures of what she imagined most of the characters looked like. Given the fact that some of them were quite flamboyant in description, it was fun to see how she pictured them in her mind.

Jared talked about dimensions. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th demensions are common knowledge for most people. It was fun to see that we have a 5th demention--when 2 or more objects moving in 4th demension are intertwined or co-existing at the same time--this is a tesseract, or a 5th demension.

The craft and cooking projects are a favorite for everyone.

Our next book should be a great one....the first Percy Jackson book. For the younger one, we'll be reading Charlotte's Web.
