For the Chinese zodiac, it may be the year of the dragon but in our garden, it's the year of the tomato!! I'm not sure what my Dad did to this little spot of land, what love or marvelous green thumb majic he gave it, but it's producing another great harvests of food. Last year was the year of the green beans, this year it's all about tomatoes.
We'll have to carefully contemplate what to plant in this one certain spot...that seems to do better than the rest of the garden...maybe next year will be the year of the potato, or peppers, or....Mmmmm, basil. I tried making pesto this year, and --oh, so yummy, --I'm falling in love with that stuff!
Oh so tall!!
Not only do we have lots of these juicy red fruits, but many of them are quite large. Here Donnie, Barry's brother, and Connor are holding these tomatoes....big enough to cover an adult and youth hand!
Barry came home with this wind mill one day....he couldn't pass up a 1/2 off clearance sale....what a sweet guy. It adds lovely country character to the garden, don't you think? :)
The garden looks absolutely GREAT!! It is all the hard work Barry and Ryan did putting in all of that manure!! Dad is jealous!!! And drooling!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the little wind mill! It is adorable.
