I asked Ryan to find a cookbook at the library--a kid's type one that featured recipes of the different states. He didn't find the one I was thinking of, however he did find this one. This book featured recipes from different congressman and women, and senators from the different states. It was interesting to read (yes, I like to read cookbooks) but I didn't find anything I just had to try. Ryan however found this one of brownies. It called for 8 eggs, 4 cups of sugar, 8squares of bitter chocolate, and 11/2 cups flour. Wow, that's a lot of eggs and sugar, but he wanted to make them. I wasn't about to squash his desire to actually bake something. so we got the ingredients and he made them.
They came out more cake like than I thought they would, but they were good enough that everyone fought to have more. I don't think we'll make them again, but I'm sure glad to see that Ryan's showing some sort of interest in anything other than his game.....
Even if he's spending time with his little sister while he's playing it!! Ahh, another little veg head in the making...wonderful :}
Great job Ryan...the brownies look absolutely delicious. What a great picture of big brother/little sister. A treasure!!
ReplyDeleteYep. I definitely want to come to your house. Tomatoes and brownies (well, not together, though) Those brownies look awesome and I am so impressed that Ryan made them.
ReplyDeleteI like any recipe that calls for four cups of sugar ;)
Looks delicious to me!!
