Eighteen years ago a beautiful baby boy was placed in my eager albeit scared--and 'can it be true? is this really happening?--arms. I had to be reminded by our case worker to feed Ryan when he started to cry "maybe he's hungry" I remember thinking "oh. right. food. yes, I need to feed him. that will be good." We drove home and 3 hours later arrived....walking into our home we entered a new phase of our life, one we never could have imagined would be so full of love, joy, sadness, frustration, peace, laughter, happiness, amazement at what a wonderful boy we have. Even though this same thing has happened 5 more times since then I can still remember my feeling, thoughts, fears, happiness and utter peace at having my blessed joy of a baby boy in my arms.
the night before we headed off to Cookout for fries, corn dogs and milkshakes....Barry was really hoping for something a little more .....uh, pizazzier...is that a word? But this was his day and that is what he wanted. Afterwards we headed off to Barnes and Noble to get the latest Namoi Novik book. Sadly it wasn't out yet so he got a game instead....he's quite happy! "I'll just get the book myself when it comes out!"
