Shakespearean Compliments and Insults

During our study of Shakespeare, Christine found this document from the Folger Sharespeare Library.

The Kids' Shakespearean Coompliments (...or) Insults
Of course, they've had quite a lot of fun creating these...mostly the insults!

Combine one word from each section below.  Add "Thou" to the beginning and you've created a sweet compliment for a friend.

***remember, you must say these with a sweet sugary voice.

Section A:  rare, sweet, fruitful, brave, sugared, flowering, precious, gallant, delicate, celestial.

Section B:  honey-tongued, well-wishing, fair-faced, best-tempered, tender-hearted, tiger-booted, smooth-faced, thunder darting, sweet-suggesting, young-eyed.

Section C:  smilet, toast, cukoo-bud, nose-herb, wafer-cake, pigeon-egg, welsh cheese, song,
 true-penny, valentine.

Connor's favorites---"I don't have any compliments...just insults, but there are some weird ones like;  Thou rare tiger-booted toast.
Thou brave thunder-darting, welch cheese.
Cailin's--  Thou rare tiger-booted, cuckoo bud. or  Thou flowering, thunder darting, toast.

Kids' Shakespearean Insults

Combine one word from each section below.  Add "Thou" to the beginning and you've created the perfect insult.  (Example:  Thou rank rump-fed hedge-pig")  Most assuredly, these were the ones the kids enjoyed creating most of all...  I can hear them now   "Ahh, being able to insult my  brother or sister and Mom's not going to fuss at us...we're doing school after all!"

Section A:  peevish, grizzled, greasy, jaded, waggish, purpled, rank, saucy, vacant, yeasty.

Section B:  clay-brained, dog-hearted, evil-eyed, lily-livered, mad-bred, onion-eyed, paper-faced,
rump-fed, shag-eared, white-livered.

Section C:  canker blossom, clot pole, hedge-pig, dogfish, egg-shell, nut-hook, pantaloon, rabbit-sucker, snipe, younker.

***Say these with as much contempt and viliness as you can!

Connor's favorite insults--  Thou vacant, rump-fed, rabbit sucker
Ryan's-- Thou jaded, lilly-livered, dog fish. or Thou jaded lilly-livered,nut-hooker.
Cailin's--  Thou vacant, paper-faced snipe.  or  Thou greasy, clay-brained dogfish.
"Thou peevish clay-brained canker blossom"
